The moment I landed on the My Freelance Paycheck sales page, I thought I was in front of another low-quality product similar to the ones I had come across in the past.
But we can’t judge a book by its cover so I decided to take a closer look to see if there was something good.
There’s a big demand for people who can provide articles and quality content for other people, platforms or companies that need to market their products or services.
In short terms, many companies need help from freelance writers.
This is where My Freelance Paycheck comes into play because their goal is to help you make freelance writing your career.
My Freelance Paycheck will provide you with the knowledge you need to get paid to write for other companies or individuals.
The idea behind all this sounds simple and not so hard but there are many factors and things that you need to take into consideration and master before being able to earn a full-time income doing this.
Truth be told, it’s way harder than what Laura tells you in the MFP sales video.
She makes it sound like this is something that not many people know when in reality there are many freelance writers out there so this is nothing new or secret.
I personally don’t like these kind of sales videos because they give potential customers false expectations.
I would ask them, if your product is legit why do you make misleading claims? No need to do that.
Anyway, let’s see how My Freelance Paycheck really works and what’s included.

Unlike other ClickBank products I have reviewed, My Freelance Paycheck provides quality information that will help you start a freelance writing business from scratch.
Even though some of the information provided can be found online for free, this product will save you a lot of research time and will also prevent you from falling for the wrong information.
You can also join for free many of these freelancing platforms like upwork.com, hirewriters.com or fiverr.com without buying into My Freelance Paycheck.
But the good thing is that they will give you advice on how to get started and what to do next so that you don’t get stuck or lost.
The fact that they tell you which mistakes most people make is something that will give you some advantage too.
Another thing I like is that they give you some tips on how to market yourself and build relationships with your clients, which is something essential to make this business profitable for the long-term.
You don’t need much to get started
The good think about this business is that it has a few requirements.
First of all, you only need a laptop or computer and an Internet connection.
It doesn’t matter whether or not you have a college degree, as long as you are passionate about writing it’s fine.
Not only that, you don’t need much money to get started because there are many platforms that you can join for free.
Even though you might need to invest in training like My Freelance Paycheck, this business is definitely a lot cheaper than an e-commerce business.

I’m glad to confirm that the creator of My Freelance Paycheck is a real person.
I have reviewed many ClickBank products and it turns out that many of them are promoted under fake names.
Product creators rarely show up so I’m glad that this is not the case here.
Laura Pennington, the founder of My Freelance Paycheck, is a real person and shows a picture of herself.
Apart from myfreelancepaycheck.com, she also owns another websites called sixfigurewritingsecrets.com.
When the real owners of a product or company show up, it’s a good sign because it indicates transparency.
The testimonials are not fake
Honestly, the first time I saw the My Freelance Paycheck testimonies, I suspected they were stock pictures.
I mean, their sales page looks similar to other scam pages so I thought the testimonials were fake.
Well, I did some image searches and I’m glad to say that they are real!
These people are really making money as freelance writers.
For example, I found out that Courtney is on YouTube and LinkedIn, where I could read about her experience as a freelance writer.
Many products I have reviewed provide fake testimonials so I got surprised when I found out that this is not the case in My Freelance Paycheck.
The fact that they provide real testimonials is an indication that My Freelance Paycheck’s training works.

My Freelance Paycheck red flags
As I said earlier, My Freelance Paycheck also has some red flags that you need to take into consideration before making a final decision.
Overhyped sales video
The sales page for My Freelance Paycheck is kind of misleading because it makes this business sound very simple and easy.
In the sales video, Laura claims that as long as you can write an email or post some sentences on Facebook, is enough.
In my opinion, a lot of people would be doing this if it were that simple. Don’t you agree?
There are low barriers to entry the freelancing market so it’s getting more and more competitive, which means that you need more skills than the average person to succeed.
You don’t only need to have writing skills, you also need to market yourself and build long-lasting relationships with your clients.
Just like any business, it takes a lot of time and effort to achieve a great level of success.
I would have liked Laura to be more honest about this. You cannot expect to earn a substantial income only working a few hours a week, especially when you are starting out.
If you have never had a business, you will need to learn marketing skills to stand out from your competitors and gain your clients’ trust.
The recurring upsell
In the sales video, Laura said that you would only have to pay $47.
But once you click the “add to cart” button, you’ll be taken to the checkout page where you need to be careful if you don’t want to pay a monthly fee of $37.
As you can observe below, they offer a free trial for another product called Passive Profits Mastery:
It’s important that you take into consideration that they will charge you $37 a month if you decide to get this Passive Profits Mastery product.
I personally don’t like the fact that Laura says nothing about this additional product in the sales page.
Not only that, why didn’t she put the real price next to the free trial thing?
The fact that she mentions the cost of this product at the bottom of the page is something I don’t like because it looks kind of hidden.
In my opinion, this is kind of unethical. It would be better if she was more straightforward about this product.
It’s not for everyone
Honestly, My Freelance Paycheck is not for everybody.
If you are passionate about writing then it’s great for you because you will never get bored or tired of this job.
Also, if you want to work from home and don’t care about the amount of hours you need to spend working, I believe this is something you want to try out.
On the other hand, if you don’t like writing, this is not for you because writing is something essential to make money as a freelance writer.
Not only that, I don’t see freelance writing as the best way to become financially free because it’s not a money-making opportunity to earn passive income.
It takes a lot of time and work to keep making money this way. Working as a freelance writer requires you to stay active.
I mean, you stop earning money when you stop working.
So if your main goal is to achieve financial freedom, becoming a freelance writer is not the best way to go.

Is My Freelance Paycheck a scam?
No, My Freelance Paycheck is not a scam, it’s legit as I said in the title of this post.
It’s a product sold on ClickBank, which means that you can ask for a refund in case you get this product but end up not liking it.
I personally love the fact that they provide useful training and resources that can help you start your freelancing business and succeed at it.
You will also learn how to go about selling yourself and get your clients to trust you so that you can have recurring work to do, which is the key to making a living as a freelance writer.
What I don’t like about My Freelance Paycheck is the fact that they use sneaky sales tactics, which reminds me of these low-quality products I have reviewed:

- Gold Opinions
- Take Surveys For Cash
- eCom Profit Sniper
- Five Minute Profit Sites
- Easy Insta Profits
- Viral Cash App
Those products make fake claims so you need to be careful with products like these because they don’t live up to their promises.
With that being said, if you really want to earn an income as a freelance writer, I do recommend My Freelance Paycheck (get it here).
What if you build your passive income stream?
If your goal is to become financially free, then it’s best for you to start building your own passive income stream instead of freelancing.
The best part is, if you love writing there’s a way you can earn passive income!
Instead of writing for other people, you can write for yourself to build your own business, which can make you more money for the long-term.
That’s what I do and I would not change it for a freelancing career because earning passive income is great =)
So instead of working for money, build something that makes money come to you!

Freelance; I don’t know about that. I’m mean its a risky move on joining companies that require a least high level IT college degree. But in this case about making at least 3 grand for every month with simple procedures about the domain, revenue, and support another famous website of the commission. Thanks for the detailed review of My Freelance Paycheck. Yes, I agree with you because I worked as a freelance content writer. You can join the free platforms and even learn the ropes as you go. Many of them have blogs and support to help you learn all the tips and tricks of freelance writing. No need to pay someone, and then again for up sells.
I actually got tired of it because when you sell a piece of content, it’s a one-off. You are only paid once. You are right about the sense of building your own online business for reoccurring income. I’m headed in that direction now, and I write for my own success.

I can really see what you mean about the landing page of My Freelance Paycheck – doesn’t exactly fill you with confidence, does it?
Over the years I have seen freelance writing snowball online, and some of these sites are now pretty elite and strict to get into. I suppose it’s nice to have the information all in one place for which sites to aim for – which to avoid.
You mentioned there are a few sly upsells within the product – are they necessary to further your writing career or can they be ignored?

Freelance writing is a great opportunity if you love writing as you said and if you are really good at it.
I would like to try but am in the process of building my own website so I spend most of my time writing for myself so I don’t have to pay others to do it for me.
I think to make enough money as a freelance writer, you would need to put a lot of time and practice in. As they say. The more you do it the better you get.

I still have doubts if you really need this product. I mean, you have to be passionate about writing, otherwise you will not be succesful. If you love to write, then why not go to one of the writingplatforms, like you mention. upwork, iwriter or even fiverr if you want to be independent.
Still I appreciate the transparancy that this is a real person and uses real testimonials. What I don’t like is that they try to sell you a monthly subscription. I think that’s the goal of this product as it creates continuous income.

Interesting review. I’m a freelance writer and I do make decent money, but like you say, you stop earning when you stop working and that is never a good thing! I’ve been leaning more toward affiliate marketing and writing my own books in order to make money lately, just because those are things that earn while you sleep.

Wow, this is very thorough. Not only did I like how you reviewed Freelance Paycheck, I also loved the way you wrote this article. I’m an affiliate marketer too, so it gave something to learn from 🙂
Now regarding the review, you mention that there are a lot of upsells. Is it just the $37/month after the $47? Or is there more upsells? I signed up for the program before which was absolutely ridiculous. It had upsells like crazy – everytime you bought a product, they offered another one and I was quite annoyed. In fact the biggest being around $20,000. I wasn’t happy with that.
The $47 cost seemed steep, as there are there are a lot of books on becoming a freelance writer that are a lot cheaper, but the $37 a month charge that is snuck in really makes this product look suspicious. I wouldn’t buy this product, even though freelance writing is a legitimate idea for a home-based business.
